The P.S./I.S. 87 Parent Association is committed to operating with transparency, accountability, and integrity. Our Executive Board, committees, and members work together under established bylaws and New York City Department of Education regulations to ensure every parent and guardian has a voice in supporting our students, strengthening family engagement, and building a thriving school community.
Our Parent Association Bylaws serve as the official governing document of the organization. They outline our structure, officer roles and responsibilities, committee functions, elections, meetings, financial procedures, and the rights of all Parent Association members.
The Parent Association operates in accordance with the New York City Department of Education's Chancellor's Regulations, which establish the policies and procedures governing Parent Associations, elections, membership, financial accountability, and parent involvement throughout NYC public schools.
Our Certificate of Incorporation establishes the Parent Association as a nonprofit organization and outlines its legal purpose. It serves as the foundation for our governance, operations, and commitment to serving the P.S./I.S. 87 school community.
